Methanocaldococcus — род архей семейства Methanocaldococcaceae[1].

Коккоидные метаногены. Мезофилы, за исключением вида Methanocaldococcus jannaschii, являющегося гипертермофилом. Содержит виды:

  • Methanocaldococcus fervens
  • Methanocaldococcus indicus
  • Methanocaldococcus infernus
  • Methanocaldococcus jannaschiitypus
  • Methanocaldococcus vulcanius
