.308 Winchester — патрон, впервые созданный в 1952 году в США. Коммерческий вариант стандартного армейского винтовочного патрона НАТО калибра 7,62 мм (7,62×51 мм НАТО). Первоначально использовался как охотничий. В 1954 году США принимают его на вооружение под маркировкой Т65. В странах НАТО он же обозначается как 7,61×51 НАТО. Представляет собой неудачный результат попытки США внедрения нового боеприпаса уменьшенного типа (в связи с избыточной массой и мощностью).
